HTML Integration

Formatting Options. This is the place to format the look and feel of your StoreFront.

  • To get to Formatting Options, go to our NetStores Merchant Administration area by logging in here
  • Click on link: "Configure Your Store"
  • Select the link "Formatting Options"
  • This explains the options you will see:
    • Body Background (in HTML): By default the background color for all StoreFronts is white. If you wish to change the background color or use an image for your background use this. For example, this is the HTML you would use if you have uploaded an image using our image manager:

    • Copy and paste your HTML into the box, or type it right in.
    • Company Theme (in HTML): If you want to have your company theme, for example "Your source for quality supplies" or some links or even a banner under your logo. For example, if you wanted your theme in text you would put: "<br><FONT SIZE=+3 COLOR='red'>Your source for quality pet supplies</FONT>"
      NOTE: Your company theme does not show up in search results. If you want to have the same theme in search results, use "Header of search pages (in HTML):"
    • Copy and paste your HTML into the box, or type it right in.
    • Message to display above Search Results (in HTML): If you want to display a message above search results. This will go directly above the search results table. You could enter For example: "<br><FONT SIZE=2>Here are your search results</FONT>"
    • Copy and paste your HTML into the box, or type it right in.
    • Header of search pages (in HTML): If you want to have a header which goes below the logo and above the page break in all search areas and in the Order recap form. Perhaps your company theme, for example "Your source for quality supplies" or some links to other areas of your web site or even a banner under your logo. For example, if you wanted your theme in text you would enter: "<br><FONT SIZE=+3 COLOR='red'>Your source for quality supplies</FONT>"
    • Copy and paste your HTML into the box, or type it right in.
    • Custom footer for pages (in HTML): If you want to display a footer at the bottom of your StoreFront and search pages, for example a "Home" link or "Thank you for choosing us". For example: <br><FONT SIZE=+3 COLOR='red'> Thanks for choosing us</FONT>" .
    • Copy and paste your HTML into the box, or type it right in.
    • At the bottom of this page there is an area to manage your images.
      A pull down to Select an image to use as your company logo.
      The current selected image "your image here" by default
      And a link to an Image manager that you can use to upload, view, and delete images from your store.
  • Click "Save Changes".
  • Now click on link "View your store"
  • If you would like to make more changes to your StoreFront simply go back to Formatting Options.

Miscellaneous Charges: For adding or adjusting Shipping & Hanling or Sales Tax to your orders

  • To get to Formatting Options, go to our NetStores Merchant Administration area by logging in here
  • Click on link:"Configure Your Store"
  • Select link: "Miscellaneous Charges". This is where you manage your Shipping & Handling information, also sales tax If your product is taxable (in some states.)
  • Select Shipping Table: by Quantity or by Price
    NOTE: if you do not wish to charge shipping (such as for a downloadable product) leave unchecked.
  • Enter a Caption for shipping table: by default, its: "US Postal Service".
  • Select UPS options. This will be shown on the "Order Total Form" that the customer will see when he/she completes an order. They will then have the option of choosing one.
  • Enter the Zip Code the products will be shipped from, and the average weight of your products in the box provided.
  • Now decide weather to calculate shipping by quantity, or by the total price of the product
    Follow the directions provided to calculate your shipping, also below is an explanation.
    • Calculating Shipping according to the total quantity of the order, enter your shipping table in the box provided. If you want to charge $10.00 for 1 to 5 products you would enter "5=10" (up to 5 products = $10), if you want to charge $15 shipping for 6 to 10 products you would enter 10=15 (6 to 10 products = $15) and so on.
    • Calculating Shipping according to the total price of the order, enter your handling table for example: if you want to charge $10.00 for $0.01 to $5.00 order you would enter 5=10 (up to $5 = $10) and so on.
  • Choose one Handling option: no hanlding, by quantity or by price.
    • Calculating Handling according to the total quantity of the order, enter your shipping table for example: If you want to charge $10.00 for 1 to 5 products you would enter "5=10" (up to 5 products = $10), if you want to charge $15 shipping for 6 to 10 products you would enter 10=15 (6 to 10 products = $15) and so on.
    • Calculating Handling according to the total price of the order, enter your handling table for example: if you want to charge $10.00 for a $0.01 to $5.00 order you would enter 5=10 (up to $5 = $10) and so on.
  • Taxes. If your product is taxable in some states, enter the states and their tax rates in the box for example: if California sales tax is15%, you would enter CA=.15 (California = 15% sales tax).
  • Click "Save Changes".

Payment Options: These options will appear in the "Order Total Form" when a customer orders a product so that they can choose a credit card, COD or a quote.
Simply select the payment options you want your customers to have.

Search Fields: These options are used in the search and shopping cart pages, also in your e-mail notifications.

  • To get to Search Fields, go to our NetStores Merchant Administration area by logging in here
  • Click on link: "Configure Your Store"
  • Select the link "Search Fields"
  • Field Names: Enter names for the fields in your database. These are the names that your customers will see on the search and shopping cart pages. These names are also used when you integrate Driven Searches into your HTML. The "Special Field" column is used to tell NetStores which fields in your product database to treat as a field containing the price, image URL, product page URL, or the weight of the product. Don't use spaces, quotation marks, <, >, =, &, |, or # in any field names.
  • Click "Update Field Names" before you edit anything else on the rest of the page.
  • Search Fields: Select which fields you want to appear on your search page. If you select "Drop-Down Menu" as the input type, use the "Drop-Down Options" box to enter the options you want listed in the menu, separated by commas. (ex: rock, pop, jazz)
  • Result Fields:Select which fields you want to appear on your search results page and in your e-mail notifications. The "Length in E-Mail" box tells how many characters long the field will be in the e-mail notification. A good rule is to make all of the lengths add up to about 60 characters. If you enter 0 in this box, the field will not appear in the e-mail. Note: Qty, Code, and Price are automatically included in the search results and e-mail.
  • Click "Save Changes"

Preparing Your Catalog File (itmfil.asc):There are two ways to prepare your catolog file, you can use our online database editor or use a spreadsheet format.

  • Online Database Editor:
  • To get to Online Database Editor, go to our NetStores Merchant Administration area by logging in here
  • Click on link: "Edit Your Item File (online editor)". Use this page to add, change, and delete products.
  • To add an item:
    • Click on "Add New Item" button
    • Field 1- Code: Enter a distinct product number using text or numbers or both, ie: 1000.
    • Field 2- Price: Enter the price of your product, ie: 4 or 4.99 (4 will default o 4.00)
      NOTE Do not use a $ in the price field or it will show up as 0.
    • Field 3- Name: Enter the name of your product.
    • Field 4- Description: Enter a short description for you product.
    • Field 5- Category 1: Enter a category name, ie: Auto, Apparel, or Books
    • Field 6- Thumbnail URL: Enter the URL of your product image, ie: http://www.url.com/product.jpg
    • Field 7- Product Page URL: Enter the URL of your product page, ie: http://www.url.com/product.html
    • Field 8- UPS Weight: Enter the weight of your product, ie: 2.5
    • Field 9- Tax Field: If all items are taxable, leave blank
  • To change the names of the fields. go to Search Fields located in "Configure your store".
  • To edit an item, simply click on the item you wish to edit.
  • To delete an item, simply click on the box to the left on the item you wish to delete, then click the "Delete Item button"

Order Total Options: These options are used in the search and shopping cart pages.

  • To get to Order Total Options, go to our NetStores Merchant Administration area by logging in here
  • Click on link: "Configure Your Store"
  • Select the link "Order Total Options"
  • Message Above Comment Box: Enter the message you wish to display above the comment box in the order total form. Use this to give your customers special instructions. Make sure to use a "<br>" tag at the end of the message if you want to put the message (or even an image or link) above the comment box instead of to the left of the comment box.
  • Remove Comment Box: If you do not wish to allow customers to leave comments for you during the order completion process, check this box.
  • Comment Message Required: If you want to force customers to leave a comment, check this box.
  • Comment Error Message: If comment messages are required and you want to give the customer specific instructions if they fail to fill in the comments, type in the information you wish to give them here. You may use HTML code to add any formatting you wish (font faces, styles, adding images, etc.)
  • Sub-Total Message: Enter a short message to display in the order total table below the last line of the sub-totals.
  • Shipping Message: This message appears directly above the shipping options on the order total form. Use this message to give special instructions to the customer for their shipping options.
  • Click "Save Changes"

Account Setup Information: These options are used in the search and shopping cart pages.

  • To get to Account Setup Information, go to our NetStores Merchant Administration area by logging in here
  • Click on link: "Configure Your Store"
  • Select the link "Account Setup Information"
  • New Account Link Text: This is the text that will be used for the links on the search results and order recap pages that customers can click on to create a new customer account for your store.
  • Header for the Account Setup Page: This is the html code (including the beginning <body> tag) for the top of the Account Setup Page. Use this area to include any messages or special instructions you want to give new customers, or simply to customize the look and feel of the account setup page so that it looks like the rest of your online store.
  • Click "Save Changes"

Input Help Files: These files allow you to aid customers with the ordering process.

  • To get to Input Help Files, go to our NetStores Merchant Administration area by logging in here
  • Click on link: "Configure Your Store"
  • Select the link "Input Help Files"
  • Paste in the html code for either or both of the special help files. It is unnecessary to include the entire html document, since the header and footer displayed to the customer will be the same as with your other pages.
  • Help1.html: This page is designed to provide help to customers in how to search through the store's list of products. There is a link to help1.html from the general search page.
  • Enter the text for the link to the search help page: This is where you enter the html code for the link to your search help.
  • Help2.html: This page provides help on the ordering process. A link to help2.html is provided on the search results page. Use this page to provide instructions on how to complete their order, or for any other help or instructions you wish to provide.
  • Enter the text for the link to the ordering help page: This is where you enter the html code for the link to your ordering help.
  • Note that if you do not enter text for a file, it will revert to the default help information.
  • Click "Save Changes"
