Catalog storefront directory overview (gen-cat interface)

Here is a list of the directories and files for a storefront that uses the gen-cat interface.

Key: The userid "nobody" must be able to read and write to this directory. The userid "nobody" must be able to read this directory. This directory is a symbolic link.     Move to section of the manual that describes this file or directory.

  • params.sh 
    Modify the example file to suit your needs, it contains most of the parameters that affect how your store looks and functions. See the list of parameters for a complete list.
  • catalog 
    • category_1  ("items "model) 
      • directory.txt  (sample directory.txt file) 
        HTML file to be used on the summary page for this category.
      • items  (sample items file) 
        List of item numbers, descriptions and prices.
      • item_1 
        • item_1.html (Sample html page) 
        • desc.txt  (HTML description of item)

    • category_2  ("styles" model)

        List of items in the order you want them presented.

        • colors (list of options that don't affect price)

  • payopt  
    A list of credit cards and payment options your store accepts. Listed one per line. Individual stores can use their own payopt file or the mall-level file.
  • custship  
    Executable file that computes shiping and handling based on the dollar amount and number of items ordered. You can customize this script to match your store's needs.
  • invhdr 
    Put your store's name, address, and phone numbers in this file as you want them to appear in the header of the receipt that is emailed or faxed to customers who request confirmation.
  • emconf 
    Put the message you want to email or fax to customers who request order confirmation in this file. NetStores will replace EMWAIT in this file with the value of the EMWAIT parameter, ORDNO with the order number, and ORDDAT and ORDTIM with the current date and time.
  • cusfil 
    A store can have a private customer file that is separate from the mall-level customer file.
  • ordfil 
    Master order file. Contains a complete history of orders placed.
  • ordopn  
    Open orders file. Contains a history of all orders placed since the last time you emptied this file.
  • ordqte  
    Quote history file. Contains all the quotes customers have saved (if you are using the optional NetStores Quoting System module).
  • nxtcus 
    Contains the next available account number if the customer does not choose his or her own. Individual stores can use their own nxtcus file or the mall-level file.
  • nxttrx 
    Contains the next available sales transaction number. Individual stores can use their own nxttrxfile or the mall-level file.
  • nxtord 
    Contains the next available order number. Each store has its own order numbers.
  • nxtqte 
    Contains the next available quote number (if you are using the optional NetStores Quoting System module).
  • trxlog  
    Transaction log. Records start and finish of each sales transation cycle. Individual stores can use their own trxlog file or the mall-level file.
  • srchlg 
    Search log. Records searches performed by customers.
  • monrpt
    Used for license administration.
  • images  
    Contains images you want your store's pages to use.
  • tmp 
    Contains temporary files that NetStores creates during a transaction.
